60 seconds with…Darren Zajac, Sales Director, Construct Lifts Ltd

Tell us about your business, when was it formed and what do you do?
We design, supply, install and commission bespoke lifts, mainly heavy duty hydraulic. As the UK agents for GMV Sweden, The Peelle Door Company and Sautter Lift Components, we also stock a large variety of spare parts. We also provide Technical support either on site or over the phone depending on the requirements of the project / issue.
Who are your customers? Which markets do you serve?
We are Trade Supplier, so we sell parts, modernisation and installation solutions to Lift Companies, mainly in and around London and the Midlands.
How many times have you been to LIFTEX?
This is our first LIFTEX with a stand as Construct Lifts Ltd. Although Rob Lewis and myself have attended a number of shows over the years as visitors rather than an exhibitors. Also supporting Peelle and Sautter Lift Components at Interlift a number of times over the years.
What are the main issues that your customers deal with and how do you help them?
Reliability, appears to be an increasing issue in the market due to equipment wrongly sold or placed in the wrong environment. We strive to provide our customers robust and reliable solutions, which are proven systems not just in the UK, but all over the world. Quality is at the forefront of our business and longevity can only be achieved by providing this on our projects for our clients.
What will you be promoting / what can visitors expect to see on your stand?
Honest and experienced engineers, who have worked on multiple types of projects in both Hydraulic and Traction fields. The aim is to educate people on the products we have used and installed for nearly 20 years in the industry. Increase opportunities within our existing customers, and look to engage with potential new customers by showcasing what our business is really about.
What advice would you give to anyone visiting the show? What should they look for and how can they get the most from their visit?
It can be overwhelming walking in and seeing multiple suppliers, lift companies, friends, colleagues, consultants etc… Therefore, I would take the time to walk round the entire show and make notes of the companies and stand numbers you want to spend time with. The show only lasts a couple of days, and time can soon run away with you. So make sure you allow time to you speak to the companies you want to find out more about!
