Tell us about your business, when was it formed and what do you do?

Sassi Lift Systems Limited (formally Liftmaterial (GB) Limited) was originally established in 1972, then in 2000 we became part of Sassi Holding. Sassi has been designing, testing, manufacturing and distributing Lift Machines worldwide since 1946. In over 50 years of trading SLS have gained an enviable reputation in the UK Lift Industry as suppliers of high quality, well-engineered and technically well supported Geared and Gearless Machines and Components.

Who are your customers? Which markets do you serve?

Lift installation companies, our market is modernisation / refurbishment for both Government projects and the private sector.

How many times have you been to LIFTEX?

We are proud to say that we have exhibited at every single LIFTEX from its initial inception by the BLA.

What are the main issues that your customers deal with and how do you help them?

From our perspective the biggest issue is modernisations in existing buildings with access and Health and Safety issues. To help overcome these issues SLS offer a bespoke service for our customers including site surveys and where necessary disassembly of our Machines and on-site reassembly by our Engineers to ensure the installation is completed satisfactorily and in accordance with regulatory requirements.

Are there any issues that specifiers, contractors / owners should be aware of in the next 12 months?

I would say the main issue would be complying with the new requirements of BS7255:2023, i.e. ensuring that their engineers and site staff have the necessary training and certification to fully comply.

How can we, as an industry, help designers and building owners to become more energy efficient and meet Net Zero targets?

By ensuring that their supply chain has a suitable carbon neutral policy in place and has the documentation to support it.

What will you be promoting / what can visitors expect to see on your stand?

We are taking this opportunity to promote our diverse range of products and services, and particularly our range of new Gearless Machines, reaffirming Alberto Sassi’s Engineering excellence from initial conception to the Market leader it is today. Our prime focus is meeting and greeting new customers as well as old friends.

What advice would you give to anyone visiting the show? What should they look for and how can they get the most from their visit?

When preparing to attend the show, set yourself the objective of visiting every exhibitor’s stand. Look for long term value, quality products and services, get to know each company’s ethos and what they can offer your business and begin to forge what will inevitably become a long-term working relationship.
