60 seconds with…Matthew Todd, Account Director, Anywhere Sim
Tell us about your business, when was it formed and what do you do?
Anywhere Sim, established in 2015, is a leading provider of multi-network voice connectivity offering coverage wherever there is a mobile signal on any UK network. Anywhere Sim was founded with the vision of solving the longstanding issue of unreliable mobile signal throughout the UK through leveraging established relationships with mobile networks.
Who are your customers? Which markets do you serve?
Anywhere Sim serves both public and private sector markets throughout the UK and beyond. We have longstanding relationships with numerous Lift Maintenance and Service Companies and Lift Installation Companies alike. Our large footprint of existing SIMs around the UK demonstrates our ability to provide reliable connectivity in geographically diverse locations.
How many times have you been to LIFTEX?
This year will be our first time at LIFTEX and we are incredibly excited for the opportunity to catch up with existing customers, meet new prospective clients and demonstrate how our service can support safety through reliable communications.
What are the main issues that your customers deal with and how do you help them?
Historically the biggest problem for our customers has been limited connectivity in areas of poor coverage on one single network encouraging them to use our service above any single network operator. More recently customers have been approaching us due to the infrastructure changes in telecommunications to provide SIMs in their PSTN switch-off replacement units.
Are there any issues that specifiers, contractors / owners should be aware of in the next 12 months?
The key issues that are approaching in the lift communications world are all being driven by changes to existing telecommunications infrastructure. The PSTN switch off by 31st January 2027 will force the requirement to change to future-proofed emergency communication systems. The eventual transition away from 2G/3G networks by 2033 will also force change to communications systems. Our Anywhere Sim service is completely future-proof by operating on 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G technologies.
How can we, as an industry, help designers and building owners to become more energy efficient and meet Net Zero targets?
As a telecommunications provider, we have over halved the amount of plastic we use per SIM ordered contributing towards a greener future. When our SIMs are paired with some of the new intelligent modems within the marketplace the SIMs can provide real-time data to run diagnostics remotely negating the need for an engineer visit thus reducing carbon emissions.
What will you be promoting / what can visitors expect to see on your stand?
Our offering is simple, reliable connectivity roaming seamlessly over all 4 UK mobile networks at competitive pricing with a UK mobile number as standard. Our automatic renewals system and bespoke built SIM management platform makes managing the SIM estate effortless and with full access to an assigned account manager any connectivity hurdles can be immediately overcome.
What advice would you give to anyone visiting the show? What should they look for and how can they get the most from their visit?
LIFTEX attendees should take time to understand challenges their organisation are facing prior to attending the show and identify which exhibitors can provide value to their organisation. They should take time to listen to how exhibitors can help provide solutions to the challenges and provide added value in other areas. We will be situated on stand G43 so if you have any emergency connectivity requirements be sure to come and have a chat with us.
