Tell us about your business, when was it formed and what do you do?

Terry Lifts, founded in 1948 in Cheshire by engineer Eric Terry, began with the creation of the first personal hand-wound lift for a local family. Today, we are a trusted global lift provider, proudly designing and manufacturing all lifts at our Cheshire factory. Our expert team delivers a full range of domestic and public lifts, alongside dependable lift maintenance, repair, and modernisation services. Customers worldwide rely on our expertise and commitment to quality and innovation.

Who are your customers? Which markets do you serve?

We provide domestic wheelchair access home lifts to private individuals, grant-aided local authority customers, house builders, and housing associations. Our public access platform lifts are installed in commercial premises across the UK. We’ve built strong relationships with retail distributors and major lift companies, who represent and distribute our lifts to domestic and public access properties throughout the UK and Europe, ensuring accessibility solutions for a wide range of customers.

How many times have you been to LIFTEX?

Terry Lifts have attended many LIFTEX exhibitions throughout its 36 year history, as founding members of the LEIA we recognise the benefits of attending. We get to network with many partners and potential new customers, as well as seeing the latest break through products exhibited by other companies.

What are the main issues that your customers deal with and how do you help them?

Customers are not always aware that our products exist, we do as much as we can to create an awareness of how our lifts work and what they are used for. Exhibitions are ideal to get in front of customers, to discuss their need, develop a relationship and offer a solution.

Are there any issues that specifiers, contractors / owners should be aware of in the next 12 months?

Not that I have knowledge of.

How can we, as an industry, help designers and building owners to become more energy efficient and meet Net Zero targets?

Our products are part battery powered and consume very little energy. We are continually looking at ways to reduce our carbon footprint at our factory, recycling, reducing and re using packaging, parts and whole lifts. Our fleet management are moving over to hybrid vehicles wherever possible. We should all work together to do what we can.

What will you be promoting / what can visitors expect to see on your stand?

We have a new product, our ultra compact domestic standing or seated home lift, called the Affinity, this is truly a groundbreaking development which we hope will impact the market and our distributors in a big way. The Affinity is a contemporary, two-stop home lift that is specially designed to be a stylish and functional solution for homes with a smaller footprint.

What advice would you give to anyone visiting the show? What should they look for and how can they get the most from their visit?

Visitors to LIFTEX should consider what they are looking for when visiting the show, and ensure they give enough time to visit the relevant stands without getting side tracked, there is so much going on that its very easy for the day to pass too quickly, they should plan their day carefully so as not to waste the time they have. Exhibition information such as exhibitor lists and stand location is provided so should be used to the full.
